Why our organic beef is so special...
Our Welsh Black Cattle live outside all year round, eating grass, clover and wild herbs. They are fed no supplements, hormones and antibiotics and they mature slowly and naturally. As a result their meat shows a charcteristic marbling and is tender, juicy and full of flavour.
Only a tiny minority of breeders in the UK raise cattle this way. The vast majority (including organic) bring their cattle inside for the last 1-2 months of their lives and feed them a fattening diet.
Supermarkets are allowed to inject meat with up to 10% water. We never do this, so you get more meat for your money!
Happy cattle means better meat. Living outside they have less tension, stress and contraction of muscles. Their hormones remain more balanced. Our animals take longer to mature, which means we have a lower turnover, but our beef is better quality.
