The Mill House is probably the oldest building here, or at least built at the same time as the mill. It is hundreds of years old, known as a croglofft; it is one of the first buildings to extend its sleeping accommodation into the loft above and may date back to the Middle Ages. When we came here it was in a very sorry state, but we have rescued and converted it into a comfortable cottage, keeping to the original style as much as modern convenience would allow! The stonework and old beams and rafters in the roof and hand crafted woodwork all give the cottage a relaxing, warm, cosy olde worlde atmosphere. It is wonderfully romantic and the ideal setting for a honeymoon.

The galleried double bedroom is very spacious, the bed is king size and the head board and bedside units and dressing table are all hand made from our own wood, cut from trees which were the victims of a storm several years ago, there is also a wardrobe and chest of drawers and a chair-bed for a fifth person if required. This bedroom overlooks the open plan sitting room with its magnificent inglenook fireplace where there is a large wood-burning stove, tv/dvd player, radio/cassette/cd player, and dining area and kitchen with all mod cons including dishwasher, microwave, family-size electric cooker, the fridge-freezer and washer/dryer are under the stairs.

Also on the ground floor is the bathroom with toilet, hand-basin and bath with electric shower over, and another bedroom with a set of adult size bunk beds and wardrobe with integral drawers; therefore this cottage is suitable for a wheelchair user who can manage the two steps up from the hallway to the living area. A swivel bath chair is available for a wheelchair user, on request.
All bed-linen and towels are supplied free of charge. There is a stairgate and a cot and a highchair is available on request.

The cottage is carpeted throughout and is centrally heated; each radiator has its own thermostatic control as well as the cottage thermostat. The oil usage is registered by meter and charged at cost, as is the electricity. Baskets of logs for the stove are available at cost.
The cottage has its own patio with barbeque and garden furniture, where you can sit and relax, watching the sheep and ponies (in the spring/early summer with lambs and foals) peacefully grazing on the mountain only a few yards away, or our own lovely Welsh Black cattle in the adjacent field.
